1. Do you take insurance?
HMO's will not pay for homebirth midwifery services. If you have a
PPO, they will usually pay for our services - we are considered an
"out of network provider". We can check out your insurance and make
sure that they will cover your care by doing a pre-approval.
2. Do you give a discount if you don't have insurance?
We don't give discounts for cash paying - but we do have a HUGE
discount if the fees are paid before the birth. Other discounts may
also be available (if you have AHCCCS, or if you hire a student midwife
for the majority of your care, for example). We can discuss this
at the initial interview.
3. What is included in your global fee?
All of our care - all prenatals, the home visit, the labor and delivery,
the postpartum care, the newborn care - is included in the global fee.
What is NOT included in the fee are any labs/tests performed, ultrasound,
the birth kit (which runs about $40), any herbs/supplements, and any
possible physician consultations.
4. Do you have "office hours"? And what if I need a midwife on an
evening or weekend?
We are available for you to call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We ask
that you keep all non-emergency questions for daytime hours (8am-8pm) -
but if you are having a concern or need us for anything, we are ALWAYS
available by phone!
What if I have other questions?
Please feel free to contact us with
any questions. We'd love to hear from you.
